Located at the western tip of Langkawi,  Beras Basah Island offers a relaxing getaway with its pristine beaches and lush green forest.
Visitors to Beras Basah island usually come as part of a 4- hour island hopping tour, which includes Pulau Singa Besar and Pulau Dayang Bunting. Almost every travel agency in Langkawi would be able to assist you in arranging the island hopping tour.
As the island isn’t very commercialised, don’t expect the place to be abuzz with activity. Rather, take some time out for yourself and relax with a book, sunbathe, or go for a refreshing swim in the clear blue waters.

Beras Basah Island, located 25 kilometres southwest of Kuah, features expansive sandy beaches, swaying palm trees, and clear blue waters against a verdant mountain backdrop. Therefore, we highly recommend bringing along a change of clothes, blankets, and beach essentials during this trip.
Despite its popularity amongst tourists, Pulau Beras Basah remains mostly underdeveloped save for several washrooms and rustic-looking stalls selling drinks and snacks for their convenience. There isn’t any accommodation on the island, so an overnight stay is inadvisable for travellers.
Great for travelling families, the waters surrounding Pulau Beras Basah are shallow enough for children to swim in while banana boats, parasails and jet-ski rentals are available at RM100 onwards.
Alternatively, you can enjoy a leisurely stroll along the wooden pier on the island or simply sunbathe on the beach. This island is also home to wild monkeys, so be aware about leaving your belongings out in the open as they have a tendency to grab unattended bags in search for food.
Pulau Beras Basah is boat-ride from Kuah Jetty and the best way to visit the island is via an island-hopping tour, where you can enjoy various recreational activities for about an hour before heading off to other Langkawi islets. If you are travelling in a group and want to explore the island according to your own pace, speedboat rentals are available between RM600 and RM900.
