Dello Hills
Dello, also known as Deolo or Dello Hills is located at a height of 1700 m, 6 kms from Kalimpong, on the edge of a reef connecting Delo Hills and Durpin Hills, in the Darjeeling district of West Bengal. It is a must to visit Deolo Hill where you get an amazing view of Teesta valley and best views of Kanchenjunga range. Near Delo there is a Hanuman temple where you can see a huge statue of Lord Hanuman. A nice statue of Lord Budha is also there on the way to Kalimpong from Deolo hills. Dello hills were used as shooting locations for more than 50 movies.
Three water reservoirs, two of which serve as the primary drinking water source to the town are present atop this hill. The town of Kalimpong, the surrounding villages of Relli valley, Teesta River and its valleys all can be viewed from this point.
On a clear day, the snow-clad mountains of West Sikkim are also visible from this hill. At the summit of this hill, there is a park built for recreation purposes which feature exotic flowers. The park is a popular picnic spot for tourists as well as locals.Overall Deolo provides a panoramic 360 degree view of Kalimpong town and its neighbouring hills.
