The Manu Maharishi Temple is in the Old Manali region and is considered very sacred by the people of the town. This is the only temple in the country dedicated to the worship the Rishi Manu.

As per Hindu mythology, Manu sage is considered to be the originator of the human race. Being the only one in the country the temple attracts tourists from the different parts of the globe. It is believed that the temple is built in the site , where the ark of the Noah – like Manu, landed after the great flood. The local people of Manali visit the temple everyday to offer their prayer to the creator of mankind.

The temple structure is made completely of stone and beautiful engravings of gods and goddesses can be seen in the stone walls. There are also many exquisitely made stone sculptures placed around the temple that warrant a viewing.
